Augustines are a New Tork trio who have just release a cracking album! Although eponymously titled, it’s their second full-lengther, the first of which received significant critical praise three years ago. The follow-up is better; it’s more assured and is packed with emotion, the delivery is full-bodied and committed and the finished article stands as one the very best releases so far this year. Comparisons may get drawn with Mumford & Sons, although the folk connection is less here. What is more here is the potential for greatness; let’s hope they get the exposure they certainly merit.
