Track Of The Day #469: Wye Oak – Glory

Sounding very percussive indeed…and fresh, yes fresh…this is ‘Glory’, the new track from Baltimore duo Wye Oak. It’s one of two tracks that have so far surfaced from their promised new album ‘Shriek’, slotted for release on 28th April on City Slang.

Their last album was all the way back in 2011. To anyone who has has immersed themselves in Jenn and Andy’s previous outpourings, this new track is so musically upbeat as to be head jerking in its audacity. I’m fascinated now to hear more.

Much as I love these guys, I’ve been frustrated in the past for their inability to play any of the UK outside of London. Not so this time round – after their sold out date last night at the Lexington, we’ve now got this raft of headline dates to look forward to. See you in the front row.

12.06. Leeds UK – The Brudenell Social Club
