NEWS: High & Lonesome festival – Leeds, 22nd November 2014

The Leeds independent label Dead Young Records is delighted to present the inaugural High & Lonesome festival. To be held across three of the city’s finest music venues – Holy Trinity Church, Belgrave Music Hall and Oporto – the event was first created as a celebration of the influence of Americana on modern music.

Co-organiser, the Leeds based musician Harry Ridgway further explains “The idea (of High & Lonesome) has grown to include sincere & emotionally resonant music still touching on the genre, but reaching further out into its modern influences on acoustic, folk, alt-country & pop.”

The first wave of acts to be announced for the festival – including the dramatic South London violinist and singer-songwriter Patrick Wolf, delightful young Scots songstress Rachel Sermanni and those massively unsung local legends Ellen & the Escapades – firmly illustrate this vision.

Starting at midday on Saturday 22nd November 2014, High & Lonesome will run until 11pm that night. The already impressive and wide ranging musical line-up will be supported by a host of other happenings, including a record fair, film screenings and pop-up acoustic sessions as well as themed street food and drinks menus.

Limited early bird tickets are available now at £18.50p, incl. booking fee, and can be bought here
