Spanning the length of the A23, The Fireworks are Matthew (Big Pink Cake) on guitar and vocals, Emma (Pocketbooks) on tambourine and vocals, Isabel (Things in Herds) on bass and Shaun (The Wedding Present/The Popguns) on drums and additional guitar. Using ’60s pop as their broad template, together they set the sky alight with a noisy explosion of restless energy, all buzz-saw guitars, bubblegum voices and their innate sense of melody.

Clocking in at just a little over two and a half minutes, ‘Tightrope’ doesn’t hang around long enough to get bored. Taken from The Fireworks’ forthcoming debut album Switch Me On, it is a short sharp burst of urgent noise-pop.

Switch Me On will arrive on February 10th on LP, CD and digital formats through Portland’s Shelflife Records.

The Fireworks will play an album launch live set at Rough Trade East in London at 7pm on Thursday 12th February 2015.
