Preaching from the Pews: Brothers Among Wera

10917945_957423664269875_6672717330110042910_oFor reasons that are inexplicably unapparent once you have actually listened to it, ‘Mammoth’ somehow slipped under the God Is In The TV radar when it was first released back in February. The latest single from the Stockholm seven-piece collective that is Brothers Among Wera is an uplifting, stirring amalgam of folk, rock and soul.

Built around Wera Westholm’s quite exquisite voice – which despite her Swedish heritage possesses an almost quintessentially English quality – the song’s huge, organic melody embraces a real sense of wide open spaces and what it must surely be like to groove with nature.

On this evidence alone, quite why Brothers Among Wera remain unsigned is one of life’s mysteries.

‘Mammoth’ was released on 16th February 2015 and can be purchased here
