VIDEO PREMIERE: Batteries(Aka Bis’ Sci-Fi Steven) – Batteries

cover170x170 (2)

Batteries is the self-titled debut solo album by Steven Clark (professionally known as Sci-Fi Steven) from Glasgow’s Punk/Disco legends bis and its due out on the 7th August. “Batteries” is the first track to be teased from the album, bouncing into life like a Duracell bunny: fuelled by cut-up post-punk rhythms, multi-layered vocal assaults and sci-fi-synth sounds. Its playful new wave shock has more than a hint of the work of Devo and Everything Everything about its jagged edged, futuristic, back and forth dynamism. Today, we have the honour of the video premiere watch it here:

“The song is about the constant struggle to remain a cognisant, productive member of society while fending off the desire to switch off for an easier existence. Alienation versus communication is the paradox at the heart of the song, but it’s also adept at simply making people jump about and sing along.”

The song “Batteries” is available now for download via iTunes and with album pre-orders: http://geni.us/BatteriesBatteries
