NEWS: Andrew Wasylyk announces debut album

Layout 1Andrew Wasylyk is the alias of Andrew Mitchell – writer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and with fingers in many musical pies, including Idlewild, The Hazey Janes and Art of the Memory Place, as well as session player to Electric Soft Parade and School of Language.

Wasylyk is set to release his debut solo album 6th November 2015 through Empty Words.  The album was recorded in five days on the Isle of Mull.  Its title, Soroky, comes from the name of the small farming village in Western Ukraine where his grandfather – Iwan Wasylyk – was from.

The album’s opening track ‘Last of the Loved’ showcases Wasylyk’s vast music range and talent, from the bold and a little eerie melodies that match his own rich and haunting vocal qualities.

Following on from the release of the album, Andrew Wasylyk joins Ricky Ross of Deacon Blue on tour:

8th Nov – Queen’s Hall – Edinburgh
9th Nov – Lemon Tree – Aberdeen
11th Nov – Gardyne Theatre – Dundee
12th Nov – Cottier Theatre – Glasgow
15th Nov – Floral Pavilion – New Brighton
16th Nov – RNCM – Manchester
17th Nov – St. George’s – Bristol
18th Nov – King’s Place – London
22nd Nov – Town Hall – Birmingham
23rd Nov – The Sage – Newcastle

Further shows with a full band are expected early 2016.
