NEWS: Peter Hook, Los Campesinos! and more names confirmed for Focus Wales 2016

FocusWales 2016Cardiff’s Los Campesinos! are set to headline the Saturday night of the Welsh music and culture showcase event Focus Wales, taking place in Wrexham 12th – 14th May 2016.

This year’s Welsh Music Prize winner Gwenno will be making her FOCUS Wales debut, joining the previously announced Sunshine Underground, God Damn, Kagoule, H.Hawline, John Lawrence (Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci) and Kizzy Crawford. As a key element of the whole event, Welsh language music is represented by indie rock five piece Swnami and bilingual trio HMS Morris with many more to follow.

To add to this cornucopia of talent, the first keynote speaker at the 2016 interactive conference is revealed to be a true music legend, ex New Order and Joy Division founder and bassist, Peter Hook.

Organisers expect an audience of around 5000 people, to see showcases from over 200 bands from Wales and around the globe. A series of high profile and educational music industry seminars and events are also planned, plus stand-up comedy and arts events, adding to the host of activities taking place at multiple venues across Wrexham.
