My typical response to the words “charity single” makes me cringe with not-so-fond memories of twee songs featuring terrible school choirs and equally bad cover versions. And I have some very strong feelings about cover versions! But this is wonderful, quite frankly. You can pay as much as you like (minimum 1p) with all proceeds going to Marie Curie. ‘Winter Moves In’ by Gloucester folk duo The Black Feathers is accompanied by a beautifully poignant animated video. The track itself is solemn but stunningly beautiful melodies with soaring vocals and very pretty harmonies.
One-half of The Black Feathers, Sian Chandler, explains: “We are incredibly honored to be able to release our Christmas single in aid of Marie Curie. After losing somebody close to me this year and watching friends cope with the reality and aftermath of terminal illness, it really feels like the perfect opportunity for us to try and raise money for such a wonderful cause.”
The single is available to download now from HERE – from as little as 1p, with all proceeds donated to Marie Curie
