Taken from his new album, Fruitless Research, released early next year, ‘Young Rebel’ from multi-instrumentalist TW Walsh is a delightful slice of electro beats and distorted vocals. Its introduction grabs your attention instantly with its pounding rhythm, bass-heavy sounds and high-pitched pips before those distorted vocals kick in.
All at once it sounds retro and futuristic. ‘Young Rebel’ sounds awesome right now, even when the days are short, wet and miserable, hinting at those warmer days that seem a little too far off. The incessant groove throughout begs you to at least shimmy your shoulders along with it, making it a darn good choice for the last minute Christmas Party and New Year celebrations. Stick this one on repeat and enjoy dipping your toes into the past and the future.
