NEWS: John Carpenter announces new album and first ever live shows

John Carpenter is a true master of horror and sci-fi cinema.  Amongst a myriad of cult classic movies that the 68 year old American has directed, the original Assault on Precinct 13, Halloween, Escape from New York and The Thing can all be listed. Furthermore he wrote the scores for these films, powerful disturbing electronic soundtracks full of fear and foreboding.

Last year John Carpenter released his first proper, non-soundtrack studio album, Lost Themes. He is now about to follow that up with Lost Themes II, a record that he composed alongside his son, Cody Carpenter, and godson, Daniel Davies. Whilst the familiar Carpenter template of symphonic synth minimalism is sure to remain, Lost Themes II promises a much wider musical vista, replete with electric and acoustic guitar.

Lost Themes II will be released on the 15th of April, 2016 on Sacred Bones Records.

And then John Carpenter and his band will go out on the road to perform what will be the Horror Master’s first ever live shows.

The live dates are:

Jun 2 – Barcelona ES, Primavera Sound
Jul 1-3 – Ásbrú IS, ATP Iceland
Oct 28 – Manchester UK, Albert Hall *2nd show added!*
Oct 29 – Manchester UK, Albert Hall
Oct 31 – London UK, Troxy
