NEWS: Long Division reveals a further 28 acts for this year’s festival

Dates: 10th – 12th June 2016
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Long Division Festival has just unveiled another 28 acts to be added to what is already an incredibly exciting bill. Now joining the previously announced Field Music, Gang of Four, Los Campesinos!, Brix & The Extricated, Bis, Emma Pollock and many others who will appear at various locations across Wakefield city centre in June will be the Glaswegian guitar maestro RM Hubbert, Brighton’s highly acclaimed dream popsters Fear of Men, those fast emerging indie-rock favourites from Nottingham, Kagoule and returning for the second consecutive year, local legends Allusondrugs.

Working in partnership with Music Glue, Long Division has run an artist application process for acts to put themselves up for consideration to play the 6th edition of the festival and this has now resulted in Louise Distras, Buen Chico, Cold Summer, Fold, The Homesteads, Big Love, The Do’s, Heather Coulton, Piles Of Clothes, The Passing Fancy having all been selected to perform at this year’s event.

In other fantastic news, Long Division has just revealed that thanks to a partnership with Wakefield College, the festival will now offer free entry to all 16 and 17 year olds. Festival founder Dean Freeman explains “Long Division is massively keen to make sure there is a next generation of bands and music lovers in Wakefield. It’s something that is hugely overlooked in our city, but thanks to some great support from Wakefield College and others, we’ve decided to just make it free entry for 16 & 17 years olds. That way, it is super simple for them to get involved and see some great bands in the city.”  Free E-tickets will be available from the Long Division website, but must be registered for and brought to the box office on the day of the festival.
