NEWS: Tramlines Festival emerging talent competition

Dates: 22nd – 24th July 2016
Location: Sheffield

If you reckon your band are good enough to play alongside the likes of Dizzee RascalKelisMystery JetsMeilyr Jones then you’re in luck.

There are 15 slots to be filled at the 15 venues across the city and hopefuls can apply at the Tramlines Gigmit page. You’ll be expected to impress a panel of judges including the festival’s Head of Programming Kate Hewett as well as BBC Introducing presenters from Kent, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, York and, of course, Sheffield.

Kate Hewett says: “Showcasing undiscovered talent has always been a key part of the festival’s ethos. The Tramlines audience are open-minded and experimental, and new bands are guaranteed a great show, regardless of what kind of music they make.”

If you think you’re up to the task you’ve got until 29 April to apply. If you just want to buy tickets, you can get them from the Tramlines website, and for just £42 you really, really should.
