NEWS: Wilderness Festival makes second phase announcement

Location: Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire
Dates: 4th – 7th August 2016

Back in February, Wilderness Festival revealed its first acts for 2016.  Now the multi-award winning 4-day festival that combines the very best in live music, contemporary arts along with a range of theatre, craftsmanship, talks, debates and fine dining and well-being experiences has made its second wave of announcements.  Joining the likes of The Flaming Lips, Robert Plant & The Sensational Shape Shifters, and Crystal Fighters in the beautiful surroundings of Cornbury Park over the first weekend in August will be the legendary American funk, soul, and jazz composer and vibraphone player, Roy Ayers.  He will be appearing on a brand new stage, The Atrium, which will include musical performances, high arts, culture, dance, special projects and workshops.

Other musical acts to appear on The Atrium will be The Wilderness Orchestra with their tribute to David Bowie, classical concert pianist James Rhodes, the London Contemporary Voices Choir, celebrated Chinese violinist Yijia Zhang, 12-piece fusionists Nubiyan Twist and the psychedelic remix maestro Mojo Filter.

Wilderness’s contemporary dance programme reveals that Sadler’s Wells, the world’s leading venue dedicated to international dance in all its many forms, will join forces with the Rambert Choreographic Platform, presenting new work by choreographer Ben Duke (Lost Dog) and composer and drummer Tommy Evans (Submotion Orchestra), ‘There We Have Been’ by James Cousins Company, ‘Ruffle’ by Carlos Pons Guerra, ‘Without End’ by Anthony Middleton, the Itzik Galili samba-inspired ‘A Linha Curva’ – one of Rambert’s most popular works – and the Rambert Dancers.
