NEWS: Deer Shed Festival reveals its arts programme

Date: 22nd – 24th July 2016
Location: Baldersby Park, Topcliffe, North Yorkshire

To complement what is already a pretty awesome musical line-up, Deer Shed Festival has just announced the first details of this year’s arts programme. Joining Richard Hawley, Everything Everything, Beth Orton et al just outside the North Yorkshire market town of Thirsk in July will be a range of brilliant shows that have previously enjoyed huge success at the Edinburgh Festival. These will include the marvellous Superbolt Theatre production of Dinosaur Park – The Jurassic Experience. Described as “an epic adventure of show-stopping, spine-tingling theatrics and megalithic mayhem” it promises great fun and hilarity.

The physical comedy duo The Kagools, a.k.a. Nicola Wilkinson and Claire Ford, will also be appearing at the seventh edition of Deer Shed Festival bringing with them an interactive piece of theatre that will entertain both adults and children alike. Also scheduled to appear at this year’s event will be Javier Jarquin – Card Ninja. The native New Zealander will delight the festival crowd with his winning combination of card ninja skills and observational comedy.

Comedy and cabaret meets rock and roll with the UK’s leading band in comedy mash-ups, and who would we be to disagree with Ray Guns Look Real Enough‘s self-description. And further comedy adventures will be provided courtesy of those popular Deer Shed returnees and Fringe sensations Racing Minds who will be bringing us The Adventures of the Improvised Sherlock Holmes.

With a range of comedy, cinema, literary and spoken word announcements still to come, Deer Shed 7 is surely going to be even bigger and better than ever before. It is therefore little wonder to find that 75% of the tickets for this hugely popular family friendly music, arts and science festival have already been sold.
