NEWS: Beth Orton, Nzca Lines and more names added to bluedot line up

Dates: 22nd – 24th July 2016
Location: Jodrell Bank, Cheshire

Building on an already impressive line up of music, comedy and literature, bluedot’s latest crop of names is leaving us in no doubt of its serious boutique intentions. Heading the latest additions is green-baize legend and six-time World Snooker Champion Steve Davis who reinvented himself as a techno god DJ Thundermuscle. Also joining the bill are 80s synch pop fans Nzca Lines and folktronic singer/songwriter Beth Orton, whose latest sound is returning to more of a beat format overseen by Fuck Buttons’ producer Andrew Hung.

Other new music announcements include The MembranesBernard+Edith, Pumarosa, The Big Moon, I Like Trains and Cabbage; as well as a folk, world and acoustica Roots stage featuring Blair Dunlop, Cambio Sun and Mi Mye.

Gracing the electronic bill are everyone’s favourite party selectors the Unabombers playing a special cosmic one-off as the Lunabombers, tearaway turntablist DJ Cheeba, space-synth-psyche leviathans Space Cassette ft Henge, Age of Glass & Paddy Steer and Algorave – the clubnight often referenced as the future of dance music – where coders create live computer generated electronic music.

Joining the cultural programme is The Charlatans front man Tim Burgess talking about his new book Tim Book Two with BBC 6 Music’s Shaun Keaveny. Other In Conversation participants include New Order’s Stephen Morris, BAFTA-winning director Kieran Evans and Richard Norris from Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve.
