NEWS: The Avalanches stream new song ‘Subways’

The Avalanches are currently gearing up to release their brand new album Wildflower on 8th July and have already shared two tracks.  ‘Colours’ featured Mercury Rev’s Jonathan Donahue, while ‘Frankie Sinatra,’ had contributions from rappers MF DOOM and Danny Brown.  Now they’re streaming the third single from the album, ‘Subways.’

Subways’ is a sun-kissed single that is more reminiscent of the work on the group’s debut album Since I Left You.  It features a prominent samples from the song ‘Subways’ by Chandra and Graham Bonnet’s version of the Bee Gees’Warm Ride.’  Listen below.

Wildflower is due to feature a whole host of guest artists and vocalists from across the musical spectrum.  Americana singer-songwriter Father John Misty, producer and singer Toro Y Moi, Jennifer Herrema of Royal Trux, hip hop artist Biz Markie, and Warren Ellis are all set to contribute.
