Irish singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow is set to release his third album We Move on 2nd September via Believe/Caroline and it’s set to be a very smooth affair. McMorrow had already been sampled by Drake, but on this album the singer has been working with two of the hip hop star’s key collaborators, nineteen85 and Frank Dukes, who have co-produced the record.
Their influences can be heard on ‘Rising Water.’ It features handclaps and beats that border on being akin to trap, occasionally being chopped and skewed. Light synths, rubbery basslines and guitar drift underneath, providing an airy foundation for McMorrow’s delicate vocal performance. Watch the lyric video below.
