NEWS: 41 more acts, including Melt Yourself Down and Cate Le Bon, added to Sŵn Festival line-up

When: 21st-23rd October 2016
Where: Various venues, Cardiff

This year, Sŵn Festival returns to the Welsh capital for a landmark 10th edition.  Over 100 emerging and established acts from across the globe have already been announced, with the likes of Amber Arcades, Hidden Charms, Ani Glass, Let’s Eat Grandma and Meilyr Jones already set to play.  Now 41 brand new acts have been announced for the three-day celebration.

Closing the Sunday night of the festival will be jazz-punk outfit Melt Yourself Down, making only their second visit to Wales.  Someone who’s definitely no stranger to Wales is Cate Le Bon, who brings her latest album Crab Day to the event.  They’re also joined by the new project of Klaxons’ James Righton, Shock Machine.

As usual, there’s a heavy focus on emerging artists, and there’s no shortage of fast-rising names in the new additions.  Dutch rockers Klangstof, semi-experimental supergroup Living Body, London indie-rockers Pumarosa and American fuzz-pop artist Japanese Breakfast will all descend on Cardiff.  Welsh psych-rockers CaStLeS, electronic trio Braids and indie-poppers Plastic Mermaids are also just added to the line-up.

Sŵn Festival co-founder John Rostron said of this year’s event:  “We want our 10th edition to be the best yet – and for Sŵn that means continuing to book the best new acts into the small venues and spaces that bring live music to Cardiff week in, week out […]  On that note, this year there’ll be a few gifts back to those who’ve put their trust in us, with some surprise shows happening across the festival weekend.”
