NEWS: Liverpool Psych Fest announces final wave of events for 2016

When: 23rd-24th September 2016
Where: Various venues, Liverpool

It’s just a couple of weeks now before Liverpool Psych Fest once again descends upon Merseyside, bringing the best in psychedelia to the city.  Welsh trailblazers Super Furry Animals and Southend’s The Horrors are heading up this year’s event, with Acid Temple Mothers, Gwenno, Dungen, Moonlandingz, Flamingods and Ultimate Painting also on the extensive bill.

Despite it being close to the festival, a final wave of events have been announced for across the two days.  Pzyk Pryzm will see live performances taking place within a constantly changing audio-visual cell, and will feature sets from Oliver Coates and collaborations with Bristolian noise outfit Big Naturals and the Pzyk house band.  Pzyk Cinema are also showing a series of ‘Virtual Reality’ shorts and Mark Leckey’s Dream English Kid.

Meanwhile, there’s also the return of the festival’s own brand of chat show, Musings in Drone, which digs out the stories behind the characters behind today’s psych scene.  Super Furry Animals’ Pete Fowler will be discussing the artwork Perambulator V.1, and Will Carruthers (bass player of Spacemen 3, Spiritualized and Spectrum) is set to chat about his memoir Playing the Bass with Three Left Hands.
