NEWS: The ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ soundtrack is being released for the first time

John Hughes’ 1986 teen comedy Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is still considered a classic, and this year celebrates its 30th anniversary.  Despite having a memorable soundtrack though, which also includes an extensive original score by Ira Newborn, its soundtrack has never been officially released.  That’s set to change on 13th September when the score will be available for the first time ever via La La Land Records.

The 35-track album will include Newborn’s original score, as well as a number of pop tunes that peppered the movie.  Dream Academy’s ‘The Edge of Forever’ and their version of ‘Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want’ are featured, as well as Yello’s ‘Oh Yeah’ and ‘B.A.D.’ by Big Audio Dynamite.  The collection also includes alternate and unused pieces of the score, and the marching band version of The Beatles’Twist and Shout.’
