Starting XI: Arab Strap

NEWS: Arab Strap announce Newcastle show, will be joined by Man of Moon on tour

Scottish indie duo Malcolm Middleton and Aidan Moffat – better known as Arab Strap – are reforming and heading out on a short tour next month.  The shows mark the band’s 20th anniversary and Moffat explained at the time of the reunion’s announcement that : “I think the day we went to the pub and split up, we made a joke about Arab Strap getting back together in 10 years’ time to celebrate.  So that’s basically what this is: a chance to enjoy the music we made once more.”

The duo already announced a short run of dates – including two at the Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow – but have now added another stop on their tour.  They’ll be playing a special warm up show at The Cluny in Newcastle on 12th October.  Tickets for that date go on sale tomorrow (23rd September) at 9am.

It’s also been confirmed that Edinburgh art-rockers Man of Moon will be the duo’s special guests across the series of gigs.  Man of Moon will be playing the dates with Arab Strap in-between their own UK tour, which kicks off tonight.  Details of the tour dates can be found below.

12th October – The Cluny, Newcastle
13th October – Electric Brixton, London
14th October – O2 Ritz, Manchester
15th October – Barrowland Ballroom, Glasgow
16th October – Barrowland Ballroom, Glasgow
