When: 29th October 2016
Where: Hackney, London
This year’s MIRRORS Festival, dedicated to supporting forward-thinking music, is returning to striking East London churches and venues in Hackney this October. With her new, spine-tingling album The Bride, Bat For Lashes definitely fits the bill as a headliner, with Allah-Lahs, Bill Ryder-Jones, Fucked Up and Cherry Glazerr also already on the bill.
With only five weeks to go before the event, a raft of new acts have been added to the line-up. Spanish psych-pop trio The Parrots bring their debut album to the event, while County Durham pop-punk outfit Martha will be playing tunes from their new LP Blisters in the Pit of My Heart. Making the trip from John O’Groats, Neon Waltz are also on the bill, as is singer-songwriter Miya Folick.
MIRRORS also welcomes indie-pop outfit HOOPS to the event for their first UK show, and the jazz-fusion combo behind Holly Macve will be providing the perfect backdrop to her striking vocal style. Indie outfit Leif Erikson and Brighton’s MarthaGunn also join the bill.
New to this year’s event is a collaboration with Manchester literature promoters Bad Language, who will be hosting a stage entirely dedicated to the spoken word. Former Art Brut frontman Eddie Argos has already been penned to perform on the stage at Paper Dress Vintage.
