NEWS: Cassette Store Day returns for its fourth year

NEWS: Sam Duckworth, Girl Ray and Silver Wilson to perform at Lion Coffee for Cassette Store Day

Founded by UK indie labels Suplex Cassettes, Kissability and Sexbeat alongside Americans Burger Records in 2013, Cassette Store Day returns for global celebrations of the cassette tape this Saturday.  UK releases for this year’s event feature a raft of big name titles, including Pixies’ Head Carrier, Courtney Barnett’s Sometimes I Sit and Think, Sometimes I Just Sit and Gonjasufi’s Callus.

There are events planned across the country, but as has become somewhat traditional, Lion Coffee and Records in London will be hosting a line-up of in-stores, cassettes for sale and DJ sets.  It’ll be launching the new cassette from Thurston Moore, Chelsea’s Kiss, in aid of the Chelsea Manning Support NetworkSam Duckworth will also be releasing a special reworking of tracks from The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager and there will be sets from Silver Wilson and Girl Ray.
