Track Of The Day #936: The Tuts – 1982

Just last month The Tuts finally released their debut album Update Your Brain: 12 songs of politically-driven, fun pop-infused punk.  Based in London, the trio is known for their ‘3-tone feminism’, infectious live performances and tireless work as a DIY band.  ‘1982’ is the third single from their album and was written in response to the treatment from their brief-lived former manager.  Since getting rid of him they strongly claim themselves as 100% DIY.  The video debuted on Noisey with the song being hailed at a ‘joyous middle finger to the music industry’.
