Producer and composer Anna Meredith is releasing her latest single ‘The Vapours,’ taken from her Scottish Album of the Year-winning LP Varmints, on 2nd December. In advance of the release of the single, a new remix from fellow producer Julie Campbell – better known as LoneLady – has been released, under the new track title ‘VapourIsED.’
Meredith commented on ‘The Vapours’: “This is my favourite track on the album. I think it’s one of the best things I’ve written. I just totally went for it and had such a good time writing this. I really pride myself on controlling my pacing and builds and the ‘delivering’ material and think I get it right here.”
Meanwhile, LoneLady said of the remix: “I enjoyed the challenge of taking quite a complex, layered track and paring it down […] The bulk of the sounds are sourced from just a few bars of the original, but I added some textures to LoneLady-fy it. The result? Hyperventilating, bleak disco…” Listen to the remix below.
