Video Of The Week #28: Lush Purr – (I Admit It) I’m A Gardener

Lush Purr make brilliant fuzzy noise pop in Glasgow and name their songs things like ‘Horses on Morphine’ and ‘Jamiroquai at the Karaoke’, so that’s as good an introduction as any. They are releasing an album called Cuckoo Waltz on Song By Toad at the beginning of next month and before that, a video for single ‘(I Admit It) I’m A Gardener’. The single is timed to celebrate (what else) National Gardening Week, which is next week as you will no doubt be aware.

The video is filmed in Jurassic Parr, a dinosaur themed crazy golf park in Clydebank because, according to the band, “Golf goes with the gardening. When you’re below a certain age, gardening and golf can be seen as a bit lame. We say, be proud of being a gardener. Because we live in a tenement our gardening opportunities are limited but we make the most of it. Every room in our flat is full of plants: flowers, herbs, bushes. It’s like Jurassic Park in there, too.”
