Charlotte, NC trio Dollhands release their new six-song EP titled “Scribbles” via Feels Alright Tapes on July 22, 2017. The lead track is ‘Cutoff’ is a vital shot of noise pop that bursts through the doors and lights the fuse, possessed of clattering drums, furious riffs and discordant, hollered vocals that rattle with a glorious desperation and punk attitude: its a thrilling Molotov cocktail tossed at a bland musical landscape. The EP recorded, mixed, and mastered by local legend Bo White. The EP artwork was done by Zoe Zag from Cry Tuff & Bad People.
Dollhands started as a solo project when guitarist/vocalist, Eric Smeal was still in high school. Eric recorded and released the album Flare Gun in 2015, but the first Dollhands show was in 2016 when drummer Colby Shumate joined the band. The two of them released a small four-song self-titled EP in the summer of 2016, and then bassist Caiti Mason (ex-Mineral Girls, currently Melt) was asked to join the band. In that short amount of time, as a fully functioning trio, the band has opened for Together Pangea, Wavves and many others.
