NEWS: Mellow Gang release live video for ‘Temps’

One of my tips for 2018, Mellow Gang  have released a self-produced live video to mark the announcement of a rare London show, watch it below.

Mellow Gang made their debut last year with their Play EP carving out an intoxicating, soulful sound framed by psych pop backdrops, it showed a wealth of promise. The EP was followed by the brooding single Temps earlier this year.

Their new live video was produced by the band at their space in East London. As well as performing their latest single, Temps, the band show off an as-yet unreleased new song. Bassist Nick says:

“I think Play was a good marker of of our collective influences, less a statement of intent. It’s still very humbling that people liked it. But with the next record we wanted to push further out from shore.”

This film catches an embryonic version of the track (working title ‘Eat My Mind’) that signalled the start of a period of intense creativity. It was like an apparition; once we had this track, the rest of the record just fell into place.

We’re excited to share a glimpse of what’s to come when it comes out later this year.”

Mellow Gang will play a free show at The Shacklewell Arms, London on 03/07/18.
