EXCLUSIVE: The Collier ‘Falling Out Of The Bed’ Track Premiere

Falling Out Of The Bed’ is the third single released by Southend four piece The Collier, hot on the heels of prior singles ‘Loose Hearts’ and ‘Easy to Love’, both of which received substantial praise from BBC Introducing. An energising blast of alt indie, the track delivers soaring vocals that hit all the high notes, alongside upbeat, intense guitar riffs and uplifting melodies sure to stick in your head. Imagine a mix of Dry the River and Radiohead with a touch of Biffy Clyro and you’re getting the picture.

Today we premiere the single which was recorded in South Wales, home to many GIITTV staff, and of course the famous Rockfield Studios where ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ was immortalised. The band join Madonna, Pulp and PJ Harvey as clients of producer and long-time collaborator Ali Staton for this record, and it fittingly brings us meaning and emotion beyond its catchiness, examining the angst which relationships can bring.

Speaking about their new release, the band say:

We had a really clear idea of how we wanted the track to sound: a little bit raw, to the point and in your face. ‘Falling Out Of The Bed’ represents the feeling of instant shock, and sometimes panic, of relationships. Although we didn’t initially plan on taking the track to Rockfield, the excitement of it being a new song that was so fresh in our minds spurred us on to record it while we were there”.

We’re told an announcement of live dates will be coming soon, as will exciting things for 2019.
