NEWS: Focus Wales announce Out of FOCUS Sessions

Out of FOCUS is a virtual conference event featuring panel talks, and keynote sessions, with industry professionals and special guests.

As part of the event Focus Wales have announced the Out of FOCUS Sessions – a live stream of sessions from 31 Welsh artists, presented through the AM platform on Saturday 26th September 2020, from 12pm.

“FOCUS Wales, winner of Best Festival for Emerging Talent at the UK Festival Awards, and recently shortlisted for a European Festival Award, have programmed a brand new digital showcase and conference event set for 21st – 26th September 2020, for the inaugural Out of FOCUS Digital Conference.

In the first of a series of online events (with more to be announced in the coming months), the virtual conference event will feature panel talks, and keynote sessions, with industry professionals and special guests. Alongside this, the series will offer artists from Wales the opportunity to showcase their music to, and network with, representatives of the global music industry, and also offering access to support to help with their careers amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speakers include representatives from: The Great Escape, Sound City, Wide Days, PRS for Music, PPL, AIM, Saffron Records, Musicbox Studios, ROC2 Studios, BBC Radio Wales and more.

These new additions join a line-up of expert international music industry delegates who will be offering advice to musicians and industry on topics such as Parenting and Music, A Working Live Sector, How To Build Your Strategy, Digital Platforms, Funding, and Music Media. There will also be keynote conversations with Eurythmics co-founder, award winning singer, songwriter, musician, author, photographer, Dave Stewart, New Skool Rules hip-hop festival founder Henca Maduro, and Youtube expert Gareth Evans.

FOCUS Wales are offering a limited number of FREE Out of FOCUS passes for Welsh musicians and people who work within the Welsh music industry and creative sector. To apply for one of these passes, visit the Out of FOCUS webpage. A small amount of passes are also available to purchase via the same page. Passes permit access to the live Zoom rooms, enabling participation in the discussions.
