NEWS: heka releases new haunting single ‘(a) dab’

Multidisciplinary artist heka has announced the release of her new single, ‘(a) dab’, via Balloon Machine Records. The song is the second track to be released from heka’s forthcoming EP, (a), due out on May 19.

heka’s music combines found sound with experimental folk, and this is done beautifully within ‘a (dab)’. The song is haunting with its different textures that wrap around you, culminating in a chorus rich with sonic beauty and intrigue.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the track, heka reveals: “Sometimes being in love can feel like being on drugs. There is a similar kind of influence that we willingly, and then inevitably, accept to be under; where we choose to give ourselves up. I guess there is a desire, in a sense, to be weak and vulnerable, and sometimes the wrong person can take advantage of that. This is what this song means to me.”
