NEWS: Poster Paints release gorgeous and fuzzy debut single ‘Number 1’

Poster Paints, a collaboration between Carla J Easton and Simon Liddell (Olympic Swimmers, Frightened Rabbit) have today released their debut single, ‘Number 1’ via Olive Grove Records.  The song features contributions from Jonny Scott (CHVRCHES) and Suse Bear (Tuff Love, Good Dog) and was made possible through funding from Creative Scotland.

Number 1’ hooks you in like a standout summer anthem, full of gorgeous fuzz and melody, to make something quite beautiful. This song exploded in our hearts and we highly look forward to future music from Poster Paints.

The duo created their new music by collaborating during lockdown, emailing ideas and recordings in a mixture of their home studios (including vocal booths in wardrobes) and state of the art drum studios. Speaking about the process, Carla stated: “The chance to still be able to do something you love became a reason to get out of bed. Something to hold on to, something that still couldn’t be taken away.” Simon agreed: “It’s not the perfect way to work – it’ll never replace the chemistry of writing and playing in a room together, but when isolation is a necessity, we’re lucky to be living in a time that we have the technology to collaborate in this way.”

‘Number 1’ is out now via Olive Grove Records.
