Omaloma : Cool ac yn Rad (Recordiau Cae Gwyn)

So happy to report that Omaloma’s new single ‘Cool ac yn Rad’ (Cool and Rad) out today, is bloody gorgeous. A dig around YouTube reveals this psych indie dream pop  of a song a band favorite, and what a classy gentle gem it is. Moving away from the 80s synths of the ‘Roedd‘ EP from earlier in the year, Cool ac yn Rad is delivered by the familiar Omaloma sober laid back vocals carrying a hypnotic quality, the guitar and piano arrangement adding a quiet strength. The chorus an understated ear worm, repeated and  insistent, and one with the distinctive flavour of late summer. It’s got an easy, uncluttered charm.
Written by George Amor, performed by Amor and Llŷr Parim, the latter on recording and producing duties, Omaloma quietly get on with things whilst the world and its drama get on with their own fusses. The very best approach to go for, with releases picking up approving nods from all quarters, Peloton from ‘Roedd’ was featured in a BBC 6 Music Tour de France inspired cycling special. They’ve been BBC Introducing Artist of the month and supported Gwenno on her 2018 UK tour. Omaloma so far have enjoyed over 40 plays on BBC 6 Music, Radio 3 and Radio 1 and performed at Latitude, Green Man and Festival No 6.
