NEWS: BO NINGEN reveal new single ‘Pantheon Bar’

Japanese alt-rock band BO NINGEN have revealed their new single ‘Pantheon Bar’. The track is eclectic and mixes psychedelia with rich, varied, and experimental soundscapes. Earlier this year, the band released their alternative soundtrack to cult director Alejandro Jodorowsky’s seminal film The Holy Mountain, with the new single coming from recordings of this album.

Commenting on the track, guitarist Yuki Tsujii said: “Pantheon Bar is a rather weird choice for a single. This warped, and somehow hilarious, track doesn’t really go anywhere but when we came to think about the next single we realised the score has such a significant role in the film’s narrative. This track is scored for the scene of Pantheon Bar where people ended up being lost in search of The Holy Mountain, and it’s about those losers whose dreams got shattered. They’re like in limbo, between reality and The Holy Mountain, and we wanted to express the insanity, the state of your mind being completely pleasantly bent.”

The band will be playing a number of dates in August and November 2024 in the UK and mainland Europe. These include a main stage appearance at ArcTanGent Festival in Bristol, with the band also curating Le Guess Who? Festival in the Netherlands. Crowds will be treated to an intense and captivating live experience, with their chaotic and anarchic onstage performances often leading to personal injury. Full tour information and tickets can be found here.

‘Pantheon Bar’ and The Holy Mountain are out now via Alcopop! Records. Listen and purchase here.
