NEWS: The Go! Team share Los Bitchos rework of track ‘Junior Kickstart’

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of their classic album Thunder, Lightning, Strike, The Go! Team have asked artists they love and admire to remix, rework and refashion tracks from the album, with a new one being released monthly, ahead of its reissue in September.

Following on from the likes of Cornershop, Louie Zong, lilien rosarian and CV Vision, who have already tackled album favourites, next up is electrifying London-based four piece Los Bitchos, who provide a psychedelic, guitar-driven take on ‘Junior Kickstart’.

Speaking on the track, The Go! Team band leader Ian Parton said: “Gotta love reworks that are so unmistakably that band. It’s like Junior Kickstart has been reflected from Los Bitchos’ mirror – you can pick up motifs from the song, but they are refracted through their distinct cumbia, acrobat, surf twang. It’s like you know it but can’t quite put your finger on where from.”

The remixes will continue to be released throughout 2024, culminating in a run of shows in the UK, Ireland and US in the autumn. The shows include a sold-out show in Dublin in September and a newly announced hometown show at Brighton’s Corn Exchange on 9 December and will see the band play Thunder, Lightning, Strike in full, front to back. Tour details and tickets can be found here.

The 20th anniversary edition of Thunder, Lightning, Strike will be released on 13 September 2024. Pre-order here.
