NEWS: Didi Han shares the lucid inventive house of ‘Paper Plane’

Seoul-born producer and DJ Didi Han has announced details of her new 5-track EP I Dream set for release on June 11. Ahead of the project, she unveils its first single ‘Paper Plane’ out today via influential French label Roche Musique.

Inspired by her move to Paris, ‘Paper Plane’ reflects Didi Han’s shifting perception of safety. “In Korea, I never worried—people left laptops unattended, and the police didn’t carry guns because they didn’t need to. But in Paris, seeing armed officers and hearing about crime made me realize the world isn’t as safe as I thought. It reminded me of childhood traditions—writing wishes on paper planes or folding a thousand cranes, believing they’d come true.”

‘Paper Plane’ blends TR-909 drum machine beats, acid basslines, and squelching samples juxtaposed to lithe synth lines and her lucid vocals that carry hopes and fears into the sky, the way she sings “I believe/Haters will love each other/ Flowers is stronger than gun” it sounds like a prayer to the heavens. It’s both moving and inventive: it’s acid-house with a modern edge.

Since her debut Forest (2019), she’s gained global recognition with standout EPs Wake Up (2021) and InThe Zone (2023). Her upcoming EP, out in June, marks a turning point. “I’ve solidified my direction—exploring a space between club music and pop influences while refining my signature sound.”

Originally a designer, Didi Han transitioned fully into music after feeling creatively drained. A breakthrough moment came with her first Boiler Room set—one of Korea’s earliest—kickstarting a career that led to tours across Europe and Asia.
