The Forever Now festival has announced that the legendary guitarist John McKay will be appearing at its inaugural event. It will be one of his very first solo performances.
John McKay was the first studio guitarist with Siouxsie and the Banshees and remained a member of the group from July 1977 until September 1979. He played on the band’s first two albums – The Scream and Join Hands – as well as their first two hit singles, ‘Hong Kong Garden’ and ‘The Staircase (Mystery).’

Fresh from the release of his new album Sixes and Sevens, John McKay now returns to live performance with a fresh new band including Jen Brown (The Priscillas) on vocals, Jola (Adam & The Ants, The Priscillas) on drums, and Billy King on bass.
He joins a line-up dripping with generational talent, from electronic pioneers Kraftwerk to punk icon Billy Idol and alt-rock legends The The, Death Cult, Johnny Marr, The Psychedelic Furs and The Jesus & Mary Chain.
Forever Now will feature a packed programme of music with two stages starting from 1pm and finishing at 10.30pm. Fans can also enjoy literary stalls, food and The Echo Chamber – a Q&A stage hosted by punk rock journalists John Robb and Eugene Butcher, who will delve into the culture with artists from the line-up.
Tickets are available via forevernowfestival.co.uk.
