NEWS: Lorde announces fourth album ‘Virgin’

Lorde has announced details of her fourth album. Virgin will be released on June 27, and is her first album since 2021’s Solar Power.

The announcement follows the release of her new single ‘What Was That‘, co-produced by Lorde, Jim-E Stack and Dan Nigro. has already made a major impact, hitting #1 on Spotify in the US — Lorde’s first US no.1 on the platform since ‘Royals‘. It also landed at no.3 in the UK and no.5 globally, solidifying Lorde’s triumphant return to the top of the charts.

The video for ‘What Was That‘ was shot on location in New York — including a surprise performance in Washington Square Park.

While no tracklisting has yet been unveiled for the album, it can be pre-ordered here.

According to Lorde’s official website, the album was ‘100% written in blood.’
