NEWS: Real Farmer release their new single, ‘Mislocated’

Dutch DIY art punk outliers Real Farmer have shared their propulsive new single, ‘Mislocated.’ The track  is lifted from their new four track EP – RF II

It comes after BBC 6 Music’s Craig Charles premiered their previous single – Big Stepper – Hailing from the North Dutch city of Groningen, Real Farmer have blazed an exhilarating trail from the pubs and bars of their hometown to all corners of Europe. Despite having played their first UK gig only a little more than a year ago, they have three UK tours, Libertines support shows, and a debut album (Compare What’s There [2024])under their belt. And with their “perfect post-punk chassis” (John Robb) in such good stead, it feels inevitable that the Netherlands DIY scene is going to have to share its hidden gem with moshers the world over.

Opening with glistening expansive keys which burst into a raw fresh wall of sound laced with driving buoyant riffs, and dark stylish gothic vocals the anthemic chorus slashes the sonics with rich ebony shards and lush lyrical threads.

On MislocatedReal Farmer say: “More and more it seems that the individual effort to make progress is being politicised and made more complex than it actually is and in such a way that we as citizens view the world burning while our governments spread populist lies. And, in all our confusion, the masses appear to believe them, which makes us long for an escape.”

The new EP RF II was produced by Niek Van Den Driesschen and recorded at Far Out Sound Studios in Rotterdam. If you weren’t born when the MC5, the Stooges or Pixies were kicking out the jams, make Real Farmer your new jam. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

The fast-rising Dutch band are poised to cart their head-thrashing show to Primavera Sound, The Great Escape, Come Together (w/ Kings of Leon), Pitchfork Festival Paris and The Libertines festival at Gunnersbury Park, to name a few.
