90s Week: IN BAND PICTURES: The Bluetones, Stereophonics, Thom Yorke

We’ve been sent a few 90s band pictures, a PR bird’s eye view of the snappers, snapped!

Lovely blokes being photographed. A PR bird’s eye view of the snappers, snapped!

The Bluetones in New York City being with Kevin Westenberg. The band aren’t very good at getting up so we stayed up all night after their gig. Bassist, Scott, was basically sleep walking (it was a hot morning) by now!

Stereophonics on the roof of Manchester Apollo with Martyn Goodacre. I was nervous and couldn’t wait for them to get off there. They were teasing a lot. Was a great weekend spent with the legendary Howard Marks (who, incidentally, should be running the country). He interviewed them for Loaded.

Thom Yorke backstage at Milton Keynes Bowl being photographed by Andy Willsher before show time. It was one of the band’s biggest dates of their career at the time, supporting REM, but a relaxed and fun moment.

With love for GIITTTVs 90s week. The past is brilliant. The future is brilliant. Some of my favourite new musicians were born in the 90s…
