Preaching from the Pews: Eugene Francis Jnr

Sometimes based in Cardiff, sometimes New Yorkand currently Los Angeles, Eugene Francis Jnr is a troubadour in every sense of the word, but his music spans far beyond the acoustic tribulations usually assigned to the category.

In 2011, the subtle sonic landscapes that grace his self-released 2009 debut The Golden Beatle have been brought to the firing line, pushing his music forward into a pit of static dirge and harmonious explosion. Matched by often-insightful and always inspired lyricism, it’s no surprise his songs draw comparison to folktronica pioneers like Jeremy Warmsley and Patrick Wolf.

On October 31st Eugene Francis Jnr plans to release his sophomore Death and Das Love Bytes, following a steady stream of uploads to his BandCamp page and the release of “L.O.V.E.R.S.”, the first single to be taken from the album.#
