Following hard on the heels of his recent mighty fine album Small Thoughts, Pulco’s  ‘Sketchbook Season EP ‘is a free to download collection of tunes that were recorded earlier in the year as a session for the eclectic radio show The Garden Of Earthly Delights. Click the link below. As Pulco puts it himself:

These songs were recorded in June 2011 as a session for Shane Quentin, host of the legendary ‘Garden Of Earthly Delights’ radio show.

My aim, as was the case with previous sessions for the show, was to try and record something new, different and eclectic ( pretty much like the show it’s self)

I started using an iPhone app called Everyday Looper to build rhythms with Ifans drum kit and household sounds and then wrote the songs to fit with the loops.

As inventive as ever, this time Pulco’s adventures in sound that veer from introspective to witty: consist of a patchwork of poetic fragments, found sounds, samples, household instumentation and delightfully off kilter melodies. The ‘Sketchbook Season’ is gleefully produced, heartwarming mixture to drink in this wintertime! Pulco has also assembled a collection on new drawings to accompany the EP. You can view the images here
