Meursault unveil new album

Track Of The Day #76: Meursault – Dull Spark

Neil Pennycook 02

Meursault is a commune in Eastern France. Meursalt is the main character in Albert Camus’ novel “L’Etranger. Meursault is a Scottish indie folk band. I know fcuk all about history or literature (and many would say music too), so let’s talk about Scottish indie folk. At the end of July the band release their third album, ‘Something For The Weakened” (you see what they did there?) and I have had the privilege of receiving an advance copy. I have not heard the previous two and had little expectation for sure, but it is rather good. It’s a sensitive and emotional journey and may not be your cup of herbal tea, but the attached track is the jauntiest number on the album, so spare it a listen please.
