Alcoholic Faith Mission – “Throw Us to the Wolves”

Alcoholic Faith Mission have been around for a year or two now, and in that time I’ve been besotted with their music, and then more latterly quietly impressed. I’m think I’m now back round to the besotted phase

The band are from Denmark, and have gradually increased in numbers to their present ensemble size. They’ve found by trial and error that their most natural audiences are as much abroad as at home. This has led seemingly to tour after tour in Germany and Switzerland, and also much extensive criss crossing of the US. I can think of worse ways to spend your time, I only wish they’d get their asses over here to the UK  more

This track “Throw Us to the Wolves” is from their excellent current album ‘Ask Me This’ which has been out for a couple of months now. The video itself is brand new but feels like the vestige of some bygone era of mime or circus. It’s hard to tell where the camera placement trickery ends and the undoubted gymnastic prowess starts, but one thing is for sure, that both the song and video are curiously affecting.
