Bummer Album of The Week: Milky Wimpshake – ‘Heart And Soul In The Milky Way’

Milky Wimpshake is not a name to provoke too much eager anticipation I guess and so no surprises this Geordie crew end up here. They’ve been going since 1988, although I confess I had never come across them before. That’s a very good thing, as their latest album, ‘Heart And Soul In The Milky Way’ is not good. It’s chirpy punk which was mildly amusing back in 78, not now. Lyrical wit such as “I’ll get a permit to be a hermit” is only topped by rhyming bus with Pythagoras. Bummer Album of the week.
