Location: Butlins, Bognor Regis
Dates: 7th – 9th October 2016
When Rockaway Beach made their first line up announcement earlier this month it already sounded like a very distinct and promising programme. Damo Suzuki, Black Honey, TVAM, Kagoule, Luna, and Jane Weaver were all confirmed for this year’s event. However, few of us expected the mighty Suede to be the next name to join the festival, especially given that Suede don’t tend to play many festivals.
Fourteen top-20s, six top-10s, three number one albums… It may sound impressive but at the end of the day Suede is a band that doesn’t need any introductions. They’re up there, in the pantheon of indie rock gods. What’s more, they managed to successfully extricate themselves from the shackles of their Britpop past, recently releasing two exceptional albums and finding a new life in the new millennium.
And if, for whatever reason, you want to take a break from music, this festival site has all the laughs you would expect from a large holiday resort, including a giant water park, funfairs, dodgems, arcades and a cinema – all open to a fun-loving festival mob. And you won’t even have to book your “room in a seaside shack” because all the on-site accommodation is included in the ticket price and located within easy walking distance of the indoor music venues.
For tickets and more facilities/line up information head to Rockaway Beach website.
Please note this event is for over 18s only.
