NEWS: Dinosaur Jr, Fucked Up, Cat’s Eyes and more announced for Beacons Metro

When: 27th October – 7th November 2016
Where: Various locations in Leeds and the North

Last month it was announced that Local Natives, Roots Manuva, The Invisible and Anna Meredith were all playing at this year’s Beacons Metro.  The expansive, taste-making festival, now in its second year, has been condensed into a more concise form, meaning that programmers Super Friendz can further flex their curatorial muscles.  That’s been further demonstrated with the new wave of announcements, which includes alt-rock and grunge icons Dinosaur Jr playing song from their upcoming album Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not and more at the Leeds Uni Stylus on 26th October.

Canadian post-hardcore band Fucked Up will be performing their acclaimed record Hidden World in full, with support from up and coming DIY upstarts Diarrhea Planet on 27th October at the Belgrave Music Hall.  That night will also see producer Oli Bayston – better known as Boxed In – descending on to Headrow House.

Faris Badwan and Rachel Zeffira’s part-orchestral, part-60s pop project Cat’s Eyes will play songs from new LP Treasure House and their debut at the Howard Assembly Rooms on 2nd November alongside a huge cast of musicians.  Meanwhile, British hip hop prodigy Lady Leshurr brings her epic rhymes and rhythms to the event, Leeds natives Krrum return to the festival and New York singer-songwriter Margaret Glaspy makes her Leeds debut at Headrow House on 6th November.

More information can be found on the Beacons Metro website.  Tickets for the announced events are now on sale.
