NEWS: Moon Duo share new single ‘Creepin’

Ripley Johnson and Sanae Yamada – better known as semi-experimental psych-pop outfit Moon Duo – recently announced that they’ll be releasing their fourth record Occult Architecture Vol. 1 on 3rd February 2017 via Sacred Bones.  Part of a ying-yang pair of albums that examines the structures found in seasonal cycles, Vol. 1 is set to embrace some darker qualities.

Having already shared ‘Cold Fear,’ the pair have just given another taster of the album in the form of ‘Creepin,’ which is a bit more energetic than its dark predecessor.  Guitarist Ripley Johnson explained: “This song was inspired by the image of Death creeping up on someone (as in the gospel blues “When Death Comes Creeping in Your Room”), which is just a spooky idea.  It’s about time passing and decay, but it’s also about rebirth, and something new growing out of that decay.  Ashes to ashes and all that.”  Listen below.

The pair have also added more dates to their UK tour in Spring, taking place across March and April.  Details below.

15th March – Northumbria University, Newcastle
16th March – Band on the Wall, Manchester
17th March – Heaven, London
6th April – The Haunt, Brighton
7th April – Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
8th April – Stereo, Glasgow
