Following on from the release of their maxi-single with 4AD alum A.R. Kane, Winter Tale, earlier this year, Ummagma return to share information about LCD, their upcoming EP. Set to be released on 22nd September via Label Obscura and Somewherecold Records, on cassette/digital and cd respectively, the Canadian/Ukrainian duo tease the release with a remix of single Lama by Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins.
Originally a cut from Ummagma’s 2012 album Antigravity, here Lama has been remixed, redefining the sound of the track through capturing its nascent qualities and taking them even further than the band previously had done. Here, Lama adopts the classic 4AD sound as pioneered by Guthrie; reverb drenched guitars, ghostly vocals and driving drums, encapsulating the atmosphere of dream-pop perfectly.
